Roadside Cuts Visualization In some areas there will be significant cuts into the roadside bedrock to accommodate safety improvements such as wider shoulders. These cuts will also allow for a deep, 10 foot wide ditch designed to collect falling rocks and keep them out of the roadway, decrease maintenance costs, and provide a safer area for errant vehicles.
Northbound Milepost 20 Visualization

As seen here, near MP 20 looking north, the road will be widened, and drainage will be improved. This will require removal of trees located within the State’s proposed/acquired right-of-way. Among the benefits of removing trees are improved visibility and easier access for DOT&PF maintenance crews.

New Victor Creek Bridge Visualization

In order to replace the Victor Creek Bridge, the current Victor Creek Trailhead must be relocated. DOT&PF is working with the United States Forest Service to finalize the design of a new trailhead; a rendering is shown below. Efforts will be made to minimize impacts to the trail. Access to the trail will be maintained during construction.
